PURPOSE:To adhere matching oil easily by lifting approximately parallel plate- like bodies enabled to hold matching oil by surface tension to adhere the oil to the end surfaces of optical fibers aligned with the positional relation of connection. CONSTITUTION:The optical fibers 1, 4 are held by holders which are not shown in the drawing with the positional relation of connection. Two plate-like bodies 19, 20 are arranged approximately in parallel with an interval enabled to hold the matching oil 17 by the surface tension. The plate-like bodies 19, 20 are dropped into an oil tank 16, soaked with the oil 17 and then lifted up so that the connection part 14 of the optical fibers 1, 4 are soaked with the oil included in the plate-like bodies 19, 20. Consequently, the proper quantity of oil is applied to the end surfaces of the fibers 1, 4 and the end surfaces can be connected with each other efficently. |
