PURPOSE:To detect a fine internal defect by incorporating a contrast medium in a sample previously when a refractory and ceramic are subjected to non-destructive testing by an X-ray fluoroscopy. CONSTITUTION:Usual known methods such as X-ray film method, fluorescent plate method, X-ray television fluoroscopy, etc. can be adopted to X-ray fluoroscopy. As the contrast medium, solution or suspension obtained by dissovling an element and its compound having X-ray absorptivity larger than that of the sample usually by using suitable solvent is used, said liquid is incorporated into the sample by the methods such as coating, impregnation. Since the coated and impregnated contrast medium invades into the sample by capillarity, but is apt to condense at a part of the fine internal defect, the phenomenon improves the constrasting effect, and said effect is detected easily. As an effective component of the contrast medium, e.g. iodine, ZrO2, Y2O3, BaSO4, PbO, PbF2, ZrOCl2, 8H2O, etc. and as solvent, e.g. water, ethylene glycol, isopropylene alcohol, toluene, etc. are used. |
