<p>PURPOSE:To classify fine particle in an exhaust gas into carbon particle and organic component, and to measure quantitative by providing two fine particle collecting devices in series in an exhaust path of an internal combustion engine, and also an air leading-in device between them, and detecting differential pressure of the front and rear parts of the collecting devices. CONSTITUTION:Fine particle collecting devices 13, 14 are provided in series in an exhaust path 12 connected to an exhaust pipe 11 of an internal combustion engine, a pump 15 is provided on its downstream, and exhaust gas is sucked and sampled. A heater 16 is installed on outside circumference of the exhaust path 12, organic component is vaporized by heating the exhaust gas to about 200 deg., and separated sufficiently from carbon particle. As a result, the carbon particle of large diameter is cuaght by the collecting device 13. The exhaust gas is diluted and cooled by air from an open air leading-in device having a filter 17, and the organic component is condensed and becomes mist, and caught by a collecting device 17. Quantities of fine particle caught the collecting devices 13, 14 are calculated and measured by a detected pressure difference of front and rear pressure sensors 21-24.</p> |
