PURPOSE:To avoid contact between a paper feed roller and a paper feed bed to make it possible to carry out smooth paper-replenishment, by stopping the rotation of the paper feed roller and as well by depressing the paper bed, when no paper is present. CONSTITUTION:When no paper 2 is present on a paper feed bed 3 so that paper- replenishment is required, a sensor 15 detects no paper exsistence, and therefore, a control mechanism 20 delivers a reversing instruction to a reversible motor 16 in accordance with a detection signal from the sensor 15. Therefore, a pulley 17 attached to the motor 16 is reversely rotated in the direction F to operate a second one-way clutch 9 through a belt 10 to depress a hook 11 abutted against a depressing lever 7 in the direction D. This depression causes the paper feed bed 3 to be depressed in the direction D, overcoming the force of a spring 4, so that the paper feed bed 3 is allowed to be replenished with papers 2. At this time a paper feed roller 1 rests with no rotation due to lost rotation of a first one-way clutch 8 causing no operation. |
