PURPOSE:To allow cutting by any soft width, border width and tearing width and to prevet the increase in the fader play when width data are zero by decreasing respective width data in accordance with the fader amount in the play area of both ends of the fader. CONSTITUTION:Data memory devices 101-104 store for a while respective data of border width, tearing width, soft width and fader width. The data with the maximum amount out of respective data of the memory devices 101-103 are supplied to a coefficient operation part 2. The previous fader data and the size data are also supplied to the coefficient operation part 2, the coeffieient for the positive and negative directions of the fader is transmitted to a data selector 3, and in the selector 3, the coefficient is compared with the limit value of the coefficient from a terminal I5. When the coefficient exceeds the limit value, the value is outputted, and when it does not exceeds the value, the data from the operation part 2 are outputted as the coefficient for the positive/negative direction. The size data before the fader change amount from a subtractor 11 and the new size data for the fader change amount by waveform size operators 4 and 5 are calculated independently, and they are selected and outputted by a data selector 6 according to the increase/decrease of the fader data. The output is stored in a memory device 106, and outputted from a terminal O4 as the new size data.
