PURPOSE:To provide the titled coating material for wood, concrete, etc., having excellent heat resistance, water-resistant adhesivity and stickiness, and tailored adhesivity meeting the adherend, by compounding colloidal silica with an aqueous emulsion of vinylsilane. CONSTITUTION:The objective coating material is obtained by compounding (A) 100pts.(wt.) (solid basis) of an aqueous emulsion prepared by the emulsion copolymerization of (i) preferably 1-10pts. of a vinylsilane (e.g. gamma-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane) with (ii) an acrylic monomer (e.g. an alkyl acrylate having 1- 12C alkyl group) and if necessary (iii) a copolymerizable monomer [the sum of the components (i)-(iii) is 100pts.] in the presence of a polymerizable emulsifier and/or an anionic emulsifier, with (B) 20,000-500pts. of colloidal silica. USE:Coating of plastic film or paper, etc.
