PURPOSE:To improve the heat exchanging capacity between a heat storing material and a heat medium by microencapsulating a heat storing agent by an interfacial polymerization method to increase the surface area of the heat generating material per unit volume thereof. CONSTITUTION:A heat storing material such as sodium acetate trihydrate or sodium carbonate decahydrate is mixed with a reactive monomer (e.g. p- phenylenediamine or bisphenol A) which is soluble in a heat storing material in a fused state to form a mixed fused solution of a heat storing material. The fused solution is added dropwise to a solution prepared by adding a reactive monomer other than that mentioned above which is polymerizable with the above-mentioned monomer (e.g. sebacic acid dichloride) to a solvent which is incompatible with the heat storing agent (e.g. cyclohexane). An interfacial polymerization is effected between the two reactive monomers on the surface of droplets of the heat generating material to microencapsulate the heat storing agent with the formed polymer membrane, thereby to obtain an intended microencapsulated heat storing material. |
