In order to make possible a rescue of the staff of an offshore platform in case of disaster, at least one housing (16) including staff accommodation is freely mounted in a recess (18) in the deck (10) of the platform. The housing is erected integral with a double bottom (17) having a sufficient buoyancy to carry the housing floating free of the remainder of the platform. The double bottom preferably extends outside the side walls of the housing, and reaches a distance up along the latter to form a first girdle (19). A second girdle of displacement bodies (20) is located about at the half height of the housing to prevent the platform from tilting over. The two girdles are sub-divided into tanks and will serve as fenders against the platform structure, when the housing is set free. <IMAGE> |
