PURPOSE:To enable use of a magnetic tape obtained by another record reproducing device by a device and enable recording that can be reproduced by other device by giving interchangeability in record reproducing function between upper class device and lower class device having no interchangeability. CONSTITUTION:For instance, when reproducing from a magnetic tape recorded in 8 tracks (upper class device), sum L+R and difference L-R of two signals, LCH and RCH, are recorded alternately. Accordingly, it is enough to change to a circuit a reproducing head b which corresponds to all tracks and start playing to reproduce. The reproduce from a tape recorded by a lower class device, reproduction of signals can be made easily by changing to a reproducing head c. However, as only a reproducing head corresponding to L+R operates, reproduction is made as monaural signals. Thus, signals can be reproduced from a magnetic tape recorded by a lower class device, and at the same time, signals can be reproduced easily from a magnetic tape recorded by an upper class device. |
