PURPOSE:To realize a detection method and a detection apparatus satisfied in various conditions such as high speed response, low speed region stability, high resolving power or the like, by containing an AC component in the drive current of a magnetic sensor and extracting the amplitude value of the output signal thereof to perform signal processing. CONSTITUTION:A transistor two-dimensional sensor 1 having a plurality of collector pairs C1, C2 and C3, C4 and detecting the magnetism of an object to be detected over two dimensions is provided and an AC current is supplied to the emitter E thereof to calculate the output difference of the collector pair C1, C2 or that of the collector pair C3, C4. These difference signals are detected and the signals after detection are operated to calculate the orientation or magnitude of the vector magnetic field in the magnetism of the object to be detected. As a result, conditions such as high speed response, low speed region stability or high resolving power can be satisfied. |
