PURPOSE:To obtain a vertical magnetic head which is capable of trim-erasing and is easy to produce by burying a soft magnetic material thin film, which is held between nonmagnetic materials, in a part of a magnetic circuit which consists of a soft magnetic material and has a gas and sliding the gap and the end part of the thin film on a recording medium while contacting. CONSTITUTION:A soft magnetic block 7 forms a closed magnetic path having a gap 8. Magnetic poles for recording and reproducing which consist of a soft magnetic materials 11 and 12 consisting of ceramics or the like are arranged in a groove 10 formed on the upper face of the block 7. An auxiliary magnetic pole 15 having a winding 14 for recording and reproducing is arranged to face the thin film 13. When a current is flowed to a winding 9, a leak magnetic field is generated from the gap 8 to achieve trim-erasing. An auxiliary magnetic pole excited vertical head is formed with the winding 14, the auxiliary magnetic pole 15, and the soft magnetic thin film 13 for recording and reproducing to make recording and reproducing possible. |
