PURPOSE:To feed mercury to a bulb correctly and easily by providing a movable electrode bar above a small pipe-like groove and stopping the mercury feed to adjust the mercury quantity when the mercury fed from below the groove is brought into contact with it. CONSTITUTION:A mercury reservoir tank 2 is arranged on a pedestal 1, and mercury 7 is pushed upward by the drive of a push-up bar 4 fitted to a motor 6. When mercury 7 is brought into contact with an electrode bar 12 introduced into the small pipe-like groove 10 of a mercury measuring member 9 via a conduit 8 arranged in a fine groove 11 communicated to the groove 10 and connected to an adjusting member 13 such as a micrometer, the motor 6 is stopped. Next, a table 16 is rotated and is stopped at a position where it coincides with the exhaust pipe 23 of a discharge lamp 22, and mercury is fed into a lamp 22. Accordingly, even the mercury of a trace quantity can be correctly adjusted and fed into a bulb in response to exhaust conditions, etc., thus allowing automation. |
