SIGNAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To record and reproduce a large quantity of information continuously for a long time and to attain a good picture quality in case of video signals by constituting a device so that two head parts record and reproduce signals on both faces of a disc-shaped recording medium simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal recorded on one face of a disc 15 and a color signal with an audio signal mixed or only the color signal which is recorded on the other face are reproduced by photoelectric converters 20 in a Y optical head 78 and C optical head 79 and are amplified by a Y head amplifier 80 and a C head amplifier 81. The output of the Y head amplifier 80 is converted to the luminance signal by a Y reproducing circuit 82 and is inputted to an adding circuit 88. Meanwhile, the output of the C head amplifier 81 is converted to the color signal by a C reproducing circuit 83 and is added to the luminance signal in the adding circuit 88 through a time compressing circuit 84 and a C modulating circuit 85, and an NTSC video signal is outputted to a terminal 89. If the video signal is mixed with the reproduced signal, it is separated by an audio signal separating circuit 86, and the audio signal is outputted to a terminal 90 through an FM demodulating circuit. Thus, a good picture quality is attained.
