PURPOSE:To obtain the titled fiber having an excellent optical transmission by incorporating the methacrylic resin composed of methyl methacrylate, N-aryl maleimide and an aromatic vinyl compd. as a sheath component, and by incorporating the polymer having a reflectance higher than that of the copolymer of the sheath component by >=1% as a core component. CONSTITUTION:The sheath component comprises the copolymer composed of 35-99wt%, preferably, 55-95wt% methyl methacrylate, 1-35wt%, preferably, 2-25wt% N-aryl maleimide and 0-30wt% preferably, 0-20wt% an aromatic vinyl compd. The N-allyl maleimide shown by the formula wherein R1, R2 and R3 are each a hydrogen atom, 1-4C an alkyl group and or a halogen atom, is easy to receipt and available to used. The polymer of the core component comprises the polymer or copolymer of the ester obtd. from the methacrylic acid and the alcohol contg. an aromatic ring, and the aromatic polyether and the the aromatic polycarbonate. |
