Presser foot for stitching a concealed sliding clasp fastener to a garment comprises a shaft on which is slidably mounted a base late in the lower surface of which are two spaced grooves each for receiving one of the rows of fastener elements. The lower surface comprises two sections extending parallel to the grooves. The base plate has a first needle hole located between the grooves and a second needle hole located on one side of the plate in one of the section of the lowe surface which is wider than the other. The shaft is pref. coupled to the base plate by a dovetail joint with a sliding tenon on the shaft and a mortise in the base plate extending transversely to the grooves. The presser foot allows even precision advance of fabric pieces with evenly spaced stitches and without creasing.
