The machine includes a turntable carrying three moulding frames and driven in steps of 120 degrees through three stations: (a) sand filling, (b) inspection: (c) ejection of the mould from its moulding frame onto a stack of moulds made during previous machine cycle. In station (c) is a lower slide raised by a hydraulic cylinder and carrying a baseplate on which a vertical stack of moulds rest. When a filled moulding frame arrives in station (c), the slidge drives the stack upwards to clamp the new mould against a thrust plate. An upper slide then lifts the frame off the new mould so the latter is left on the stack. Used in stack moulding for mfg. piston rings, valve seats, etc.
