PURPOSE:To permit easy rapping of a casting and to produce the uniform casting product at a low cost in the stage of casting a metallic seal having a contracted part at the outside circumferential top edge by utilizing the centrifugal force of a molten metal owing to the rotation of a casting mole and the shrinkage of the metal in the stage of solidifying. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold 12 is constituted by combining a master mold 1 forming the top and side surfaces of a metallic seal, a round core 9 forming the inside surface and a drag 8 in the case of casting a metallic seal 2 having a contracted part 5 at the outside circumferential edge. A molten metal is poured by a ladle 15 for the molten metal into the drag 8 while the assembled mold 12 on a rotary plate 13 is rotated by the plate 13 which is rotated at a high speed by a motor 14. The molten metal is admitted into the cavity formed of the mold 1, the core 9 and the drag 8 through a gate part 17 by centrifugal force, by which the seal 2 is formed. The seal 2 shrinks on solidification and the projecting outside circumferential parts 6, 7 are detached from the inside wall of the master mold 1, by which the taking-out of the metallic seal product 2 by rapping is easily accomplished and the efficiency of the casting operation is improved. |
