PURPOSE:To prepare a sterilizing and deodorizing agent usable stably for a long period, by forming chlorine dioxide and a gelling agent consisting of a higher fatty acid, a protein and an alkali metal salt in a coagulated form. CONSTITUTION:A higher fatty acid, a protein and an alkali metal salt and ethyl alcohol are heated slowly and reacted to form a material for a gelling agent. An aqueous solution of chlorine dioxide is then added to the material, and the concentration and pH are adjusted to stabilize the resultant mixture. The stabilized mixture is then cooled and coagulated to give the aimed sterilizing and deodorizing coagulated stabilized chlorine dioxide. If the resultant chlorine dioxide is contained in a refrigerator, cupboard, etc., the chlorine dioxide liberates always and continuously in a small amount and diffuses in a stable state for a long period. |
