<p>A reconditioning device for waste oil contains all necessary equipment in a mobile self-contained module. The equipment consists of pumps, filters, a heat exchanger and an evaporator which operates under a vacuum. The spent oil is supplied to the unit through a 60-mesh strainer by a pump. A heat exchanger heats it by steam from the electrically heated evaporator before it passes through a flowmeter and the 5-micron prefilter into the evaporator. Water and light volatile mater is removed here, assisted by a vacuum pump which also acts on the associate condensate tank for the vapours. A circulating pump passes the oil through two sand filters and a 1/2 micron filter before it reaches the tank for the purified oil. This creates a mobile module which can be used in any garage and service station to recover spent crankcase oil of i.c. engines, ready for re-use.</p> |
