PURPOSE:To control simply and quickly the scan locus of a magnetic head by mixing the pilot signals in a fixed ratio which show one of two magnetic tracks adjacent to other magnetic tracks and recording those pilot signals. CONSTITUTION:Signals S1-S4 of adjacent tracks are mixed with signals S1-S4 of pilot signal S and recorded to an adjustment tape. When the scan center of a head 1A is coincident with the center of a track 3A, the reproduction output of the head 1A contains a signal S4 sent from the track 3A in addition to its adjacent tracks 3B and 3B. In a reproduction mode, the head 1A is shifted toward the track 3B by DELTAX to the center of the track 3A by a tracking servo mechanism. A signal Si corresponding to an FM signal Sf is recorded to the track 3A and therefore pins 5 and 6 are controlled while observing the signal Sf through an oscilloscope so that the envelope of said signal is equal to a horizontal straight line. As a result, both heads 1A and 1B are scanning in parallel to the tracks 3. |
