The invention relates to mounting a speed-varying pulley 10 of the type comprising a hub 12 equipped with a transverse bearing piece 32, two flanges 15 and 16 about this hub, at least one of which is axially movable, and a centrifugal control assembly comprising a diaphragm 27, axially interposed between transverse bearing piece 32 and movable flange 15 and equipped with governor weights 35 and at least one connection element 38, at least in rotation, with the movable flange. According to the invention, the governor weights are assembled to the diaphragm after having arranged them in a circular positioning and centring line and having positioned the diaphragm with a clearance with respect to the latter. A pulley, according to the invention, can be recognised by the fact that the governor weights are attached to the diaphragm by fixing members 50 which incompletely fill the bores 51 made for this purpose through the diaphragm. Application especially to rotational drive of auxiliary equipment, especially for a motor vehicle. <IMAGE>
