PURPOSE:To allow air to flow and make it possible to cool the timing belt by forming a part of the timing belt cover by a porous sintering material. CONSTITUTION:The timing belt 2 transmitting the rotation of a crankshaft 9 to a camshaft 8 is covered with a belt cover 6 and protected from dusts, dirts and the like. A vent opening 5 is provided on the cover 6, and the opening is covered with the porous sintering material 7 such as an aluminum sintering material. The porous sintering material permits air to flow, and the timing belt 2 is cooled, and invasion of dusts, dirts, moisture and the like is prevented, thus imoproving the durability of the belt. Furthermore, the surge energies such as acoustic waves and the like are absorbed into the sintering material 7, and hence transmission of noise to the outside is prevented. |
