The invention relates to a device forming a water box 18 and an expansion tank 40 for a liquid-circulation heat exchanger, the device being cast in one single piece and comprising a degassing passage 30, 32 which is cast in one single piece with the water box and the expansion tank and connects the nozzle 24 for inlet of fluid into the exchanger to the expansion tank 20. The invention especially applies to heat exchangers forming part of the cooling circuits of motor vehicle engines. <IMAGE>
