PURPOSE:To transmit a large force and facilitate the assembling of a shaft by a method wherein pins are mounted at both shaft ends of a main crank shaft and an auxiliary crank shaft and both shafts are connected by a clutch mechanism in which a protuberance and recess for meshing are formed at the ends of the shafts to mesh them mutually. CONSTITUTION:In a multi-cylinder rotary compressor, holes 20', 27 are provided opposingly at both shaft ends of a main crank shaft 13 and an auxiliary crank shaft 14 while a pin 26 is inserted into the holes 20', 27 to connect both shafts 13, 14. The opposing both shaft ends 13, 14 are provided with the clutch mechanism having square type or table type meshing sections 13a, 14a. According to this method, both shafts 13, 14 may be connected surely and a large torque may be transmitted since the shafts have high rigidity and the strength of the clutch section is strong. The clutch section may be connected by inserting the pin 26 into either the auxiliary or main crank shafts 13, 14 and pushing the meshing sections 13a, 14a of both crank shafts 13, 14 against the other crank shaft after meshing them, therefore, the crank shafts may be assembled simply.
