PURPOSE:To permit to effect vapor discharge and priming by a priming pump simultaneously upon starting the engine by a method wherein the priming pump, which sends the steam in a diaphragm chamber into a tank, is provided in the carburettor. CONSTITUTION:When the priming pump 94 is operated prior to the starting of the engine, the fuel vapor in the diaphragm chamber 22 is discharged into the tank 36 through a pipe 70b by the effect of non-return valves 78, 80. The fuel in the tank 36 is sucked into the diaphragm chamber 22 through a valve 46, a path 44, non-return valves 28, 30 of a fuel supplying pump 18 and a pipe 38 by a vacuum generated in this case. On the other hand, during the normal operation of the engine, the fuel supplying pump 18 and a fuel vapor discharging pump 74 in the diaphragm chamber 22 are operated by a pulsation in a suction pipe. |
