PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency, by a method wherein the one chuck is movable in a direction in which chuck grasping members are positioned facing each other, and the other chuck is changeable to a position allowing the chuck to grasp an ordinary pile and a position where other pile than aforesaid pile is grasped. CONSTITUTION:When piles P1 and P2 being an ordinary pile to be pressed in and being different in the depth of groove are grasped, the pile P1 being deep in a groove is grasped within a movable range of a chuck grasping member 8a by means of a second chuck 8. A chuck 7 is moved in a direction, in which chuck grasping members 7a and 7b are positioned facing each other, by means of a hydraulic cylinder.plunger device 9 to grasp the pile P2 having a shallow groove. With regard to a pile P3 for correcting a press-in direction, the first chuck 7 is dismounted from a chuck frame 3, the second chuck 8 is changed from a first position to a second position, and is fixed by means of a positioning pin 10 to grasp the pile P3. |
