PURPOSE:To obtain solid black with sufficient density even by a developer with >=10<12>OMEGA.cm specific resistance by specifying the distance between the developing main electrode of a magnet roll and a magnetic pole adjoining to it across the center connection line between a photosensitive body and the roll. CONSTITUTION:The magnet roll 11 is formed by embedding rod type magnets S1, N1, S2, S3, N2, S4, and N3 in the outer circumferential part of magnet support 12 made of a nonmagnetic material at seven positions successively and providing a rotatable sleeve outside. The distance between the developing main electrode S1 and the electrode adjoining to it across the center connection line 13 between the photosensitive body and roll 11 is set to 5-15mm.. Consequently, sufficient-density solid black is obtained by this magnet roll 11 even when the developer containing carriers with >=10<12>OMEGA. is used, and a superior linear image with low density is reproduced. |
