The invention relates to a flat joint fastening for round-link chains, having chain-link limbs which are thickened to form the joint fastening. The thickening of the chain-link limbs extends at a constant thickness into the region of the chain-link curves which connect the chain-link limbs, so that perfect seating in the tooth gaps of a chain drum is achieved. The pitch of the joint fastening link is selected such that, while maintaining its modulus, it is larger by at least an amount which corresponds to the increase in the radius for the central partial circle of the joint fastening link which rests with the thickened part of the limbs in the tooth gaps of the chain drum when it revolves over said chain drum. <IMAGE>
