PURPOSE:To improve the resistance to heat and hot water, etc. by orienting longitudinally and transversely a thermoplastic resin sheet which contains a copolymer of 15wt% or more comprising specified quantities of an aromatic vinyl monomer and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid imide derivative. CONSTITUTION:A thermoplastic resin sheet which contains a copolymer of 15wt% or more containing an aromatic vinyl monomer of 35-75wt% and an unsaturated dicarboxylic acid imide derivative of 25-65wt% is oriented in the longitudinal and transverse directions to form a biaxially-oriented sheet. Said copolymer may contain a rubber-like polymer of 0-40wt% and/or a monomer of 0-40wt% which can be copolymerized with the former. The biaxial orientation is executed by a biaxial orientation method according to a conventional tenter system, an inflation method or the like, with a degree of orientation of 1.2-1.5 and an orientation temperature of 80-250 deg.C. |
