A roller-shutter box with heat insulation for windows, doors and the like, is provided with a housing for receiving the roller shutter, the roller-shutter box being of self-supporting design and having, in its upper region and extending over the length of the roller-shutter box, a reinforced concrete strip (13) as a lintel, from which steel stirrups and/or steel lattice parts (10) project freely upwards, the lower regions of which interact with the reinforcement (9) of the reinforced concrete strip. The outside wall (7) of the housing is extended upwards beyond the reinforced concrete strip (13) at least approximately as far as a level corresponding to the level of the local concrete cover, and the reinforced concrete strip is, on the outside on both lateral transverse walls (1) of the housing, extended downwards at least approximately as far as the underside of the roller-shutter box. <IMAGE>
