摘要 By means of the invention, middle parts are assigned to a twin-piston free-floating piston engine, between the two pistons and cylinders. The pistons and cylinders are spatially separated from one another by a mean distance but have the same axes and the two pistons have a common middle piston rod. In the space between the two pistons and cylinders, mechanical means are connected to the piston rod, by means of which either the reciprocating movement of the pistons is converted into a rotary movement or a plurality of such double-piston free-floating piston engines are compelled into a successive piston movement cycle. As a result it is possible to have the cylinders on the outside for the purpose of cooling, but the mechanics in the middle, and finally such central mechanics are proposed that there is no need for a complex crank shaft, or the overall unit is built so light that the engines are suitable for use in aircraft. An example of a multiple engine cylinder is also given. In a mathematical-geometrical analysis it is established that the constantly equal power of the engines and pump pistons of the older Eickmann patents is bound to lead to breakage of the hydraulic systems. Instead of this, the pump stroke must be arranged parallel to the shaft angle of rotation and for some applications an adjustable pump piston stroke must be provided.
