PURPOSE:To raise the reliability and economical advantage of a thermal head driver as well as uniformly control heat energy from unit heaters by a method in which the voltage of power source is measured at the time of printing, and time width of printing pulse is determined. CONSTITUTION:Voltage sent out for printing from a power source 11 for a thermal head driver is detected, and frequency converted by a frequency converter 13 is counted as input clock for given hours from the beginning of printing by a frequency counter 23. By using the count value as address, pulse width data according to the voltage of the power source 11 are sent out from ROM memory 31 to the thermal head driver 12 by which applied pulse is generated on the basis of printing startup signal 28. On the basis of printing data 34, printing action is started, and applied pulse is trailed by time width by the width data 33. Heat energy can thus be simply controlled. |
