Load cell with strain gauges

In load cells with plate-shaped springs (2), use is usually made of strain gauges (4, 5, 6, 7) with the strands of the rosette parallel to one another and a radial measuring direction. These load cells have a relatively high eccentricity error, a relatively high error due to the heat loss of the supply current and a relatively low sensitivity. By means of a configuration of the strain gauges (8, 9, 10, 11) modified according to the invention, with some of the strands of the rosettes running radially, some running tangentially, a good averaging of the strains is obtained, that is to say no eccentricity error, a good dissipation of the heat loss is obtained due to large surfaces covered by the rosette and high sensitivity is obtained due to optimum utilisation of the strains. <IMAGE>
