Device for demonstration of the action of the brake device in a wheeled vehicle

On a demonstration panel (1) four wheel elements (3) are rotatably mounted on parallel axles (2). Their disc brakes (4) are each connected to a brake governor by way of a brake lever (59). A drive shaft (13) bears on each wheel element at the bottom, which shaft, rotatable about its axis (34) sits in a bearing element (29), which in turn, is supported so that it can swivel about a horizontal swivel axis (32) perpendicularly intersecting the axis (34). A belt pulley (17) for a flat belt (18) is supported on the drive shaft (13) symmetrically in relation to the axis intersection (34, 32), which belt runs round all four belt pulleys (18) and about a drive pulley of a flywheel driven by an engine. In order to adjust the bearing force on the wheel element (3) a threaded spindle (39) is used, which by means of its pivot nut (38) swivels a connecting piece (37) about the joint (36) of the bearing element (29), thereby adjusting the prestressing force of a balancing spring (47) which on the other side of the swivel axis (32) acts on the bearing element. The slip limit for the transmission torque is adjusted on the handwheel (15) by way of the bearing force between drive shaft (13) and wheel element (3). If the brake is operated after switching off the drive, wheels with a smaller transmission torque come to a standstill sooner. In this way a braking sequence on ground with varying adhesion or with antilock systems can be demonstrated. <IMAGE>
