Known devices for audio analgesia in dental practice have a cable connection between the headphones and the LF output stage of the audio analgesia system, which can have a disturbing effect during treatment, and indicates accommodating the LF output stage in the immediate vicinity of the headphones, that is to say, in particular, in the patient's seat. The disturbing cable connection is avoided in the proposed device, without loss of selectivity of installation of the LF output stage or components connected upstream thereof. According to the invention, a transmitter device for audio frequency modulated carrier frequencies is connected to the LF output stage and the hearing device is fitted with a corresponding receiver section, a demodulator, an audio frequency amplifier and a voltage source. The components upstream of the transmitter device are integrated in a functional unit used in dental practice.
