The sight barrier is intended for use in written examinations, especially in schools, universities and the like. It consists of a plate (2) which can be erected on a table-top, possesses feet (3', 6) projecting approximately at right-angles on both sides, in the region of its bottom edge (5), and consists of a matt or matted light-permeable sheeting material. Because of its low intrinsic weight it can easily be transported even in class sets of 15-20 units, can be simply erected by means of its feet on a table-top and, because of its matt transparency, forms a good sight barrier without the lighting conditions being impaired by the production of shadows at the workplaces. <IMAGE>
