With the facing according to the invention, wooden or steel frames of old doors, which have become unattractive and/or been spoiled, are faced in the course of renovation of old constructions. The facing consists of an angular clamping strip which is to be inserted into the rebate of the old frame, and covering plates for the inner side, rebate side and decorative side. The special feature is that the covering plates on the inner side and the rebate side are connected firmly to the clamping strip. The result is a one-piece facing which can be mounted simply and with low labour costs.
