Universal-joint shaft comprising two flexible joints (2, 8) which have axial longitudinal displaceability and further comprising a connecting shaft which is designed as a splined shaft (4) displaceable telescopically in the axial direction and is provided with a locking device, namely a locking ring (5). By means of the joints movable in the angular and axial direction, which consist of disc-like plate assemblies or of resilient sheet-metal straps bent in a U-shape, this universal-joint shaft absorbs small displacements in operation, e.g. those caused by vibrations, without wear. Axial length differences during assembly are accommodated by the splined shaft (4), which is displaceable in the splined hub (6) and, on completion of assembly, is locked by means of the locking ring (5) in order to reduce wear (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
