PURPOSE:To reduce the size and the cost of a current type inverter device by composing to use a DC circuit having a smoothing capacitor of other power controller instead of a DC circuit of a regenerative clipper. CONSTITUTION:A power reactor 11 which forms a clipper is connected with the DC bus 24 of a voltage type inverter 21 at the DC side, and the inverter 21 and a DC circuit are commonly formed. When a surge voltage is generated at the commutation time, this surge voltage is voltage-clipped through the reactor 11, and excess commutation energy is temporarily stored in a smoothing capacitor 23. The stored excess commutation energy is supplied through power inverters 25, 26 to AC motors 27, 28 at the power supply mode time of the inverter 21, and returned to the power source through a power reactor 22 and an input transformer 20. |
