The smooth-running electromagnetic slot closure flue controller consists of smooth-running slot closures, a frame, and an electromagnet which controls the slot closure by means of the guides. As a result of the mounting of the electromagnetic slot closure flue controller, the pressure conditions in the combustion chamber remain constant, which leads to an optimum burner setting and a reduction of the flue gas temperature. While the burner is inoperative, the slot closures of the flue controller are electromagnetically opened to the full cross-section, and the air stream which otherwise flows through the combustion chamber and cools it, is conducted directly from the heating chamber into the chimney and serves for chimney ventilation and effectively obviates sooting. There are then no longer any losses in inoperative times. Both the reduction of the flue gas temperature and the prevention of inoperative time losses lead to a saving of the expensive fuels. Less fuel also means less pollutants added to the atmosphere, which was also the basic concept of this invention.
