The hitherto known lifesaving equipment needs to be put on or fastened in the water by the casualty or a second person as an assistant in the water, or the casualty was pulled out of the water with the applied lifesaving equipment in a hanging, largely perpendicular position putting the circulation at risk. The invention of the horizontally mounted strap-carrying system provides lifesaving equipment which is movable on the deck rail and with which, for example by means of the boat hook, the rescue basket can be slipped over the casualty from the vessel, 1.) without a second person having to help in the water, 2.) without the casualty having to help, for example in the event of exhaustion, 3.) without the casualty, who possibly has greatly weakened circulation due to exposure, having to be pulled perpendiculary out of the water and thereby suffering a circulation breakdown. The equipment is light and flexible, can be folded or twisted together, unfolds automatically, moves the carrying strap into the correct position in the process, can be manipulated (slipped over) from the vessel and can be kept ready packed together at the side rail even on smaller vessels.
