DRYING METHOD OF CASTING MOLD

PURPOSE:To permit easy heating and drying of a casting mold surface and checking of the degree of drying in the stage of drying the casting mold coated with a mold coating material on the surface of a sand mold by providing electrodes in the sand mold and conducting electricity to the mold coating material thereby detecting the change in the current and voltage. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 2 are set in a sand mold 3 coated with a mold coating material 1 and electric wires 4 are connected to electrode 2. The ends of the wires 4 opposite to the electrodes 2 are connected to terminals 5 and electricity is fed thereto. Then electric current flows to the material 1 to cause resistance heating thereof. Moisture is evaporated by the generated heat and is released to the outside. When the moisture of the material 1 decreases, the specific resistance decreases and therefore the degree of drying of the material 1 is checked by detecting the change in the current and voltage.
