PURPOSE:To effectively utilize a compartment space, by providing an operating section and indicator section of a car audio device in the vicinity of a driver's seat in a compartment and providing a tuner, sound processing unit and power amplifier at a position other than the driver's seat. CONSTITUTION:A front unit 8 is constituted of an operating section 1, indicator section 2 and sound source section such as a tape deck 3, and the unit 8 is arranged in the vicinity of a driver's seat in a compartment. A rear unit 9 is constituted of a tuner 4 and power amplifier 5, and the unit 9 is arranged at a distance from the driver's seat. The front unit 8 is additionally provided with a CPU10, modulation circuit 11 for transmitting an audio signal reproduced by the tape deck 3 through an optical fiber for example, electric/photo transducers 12 and 13 and photo/electric transducer 14 each for effecting transmission with the optical fiber between the front unit 8 and the rear unit 9. The rear unit 9 is also provided with the similar components. both the units 8 and 9 are connected with each other by the optical fibers 20-22. |
