PURPOSE:To save manpower required for grinding operation by maintaining the oil pressure of a hydraulic motor within a given range and staying a grinding wheel on the peripheral surface of a roll only in a time period obtained from a relative equation of grinding quantity, hydraulic pressure, and time. CONSTITUTION:A grinding wheel 22 is fixed to a moving body 23 and is driven by a hydraulic motor 26 through the spline-fitting part of a transmission shaft 24. The wheel 22 having its axis eccentric with respect to a holding member 21 is moved far and near from/to a roll 11 by a step motor 27. The wheel 22 performs grinding while maintaining the oil pressure of hydraulic motor 26 within a given range. The grinding is performed by adjusting an oil pressure and a traversing speed only in a time period obtained from the relationship of grinding quantity = reference oil pressure X staying time. The motor 27 automatically stop and start the wheel 22 by computor control. In this way, the reduction of labor for grinding operation is performed. |
