PURPOSE:To enable a sufficient impact by applying a voltage to a coil of an electromagnet continuously as divided into two special stages to checking peak current from increasing more than the necessary level while making up for the deficiency of current as a whole. CONSTITUTION:An armature is displaced against an elastic force of a spring by a magnetic flux of a permanent magnet beforehand. The magnetic flux of the permanent magnet is cancelled by a magnetic flux generated with the energization of a electromagnet to release the armature from the displacement constraint so that the armature (hence, a printing wire) is impacted by an elastic force of the spring to perform a printing. In a printer of such a type, a voltage is applied to a coil 20 of the electromagnet by two stages in such a manner that an initial voltage VCC1 is impressed for a fixed time and then, the subsequent voltage VCC2 smaller than that is impressed for a fixed time. The subsequent voltage VCC2 can be less than one-third of the initial voltage VCC1. |
