PURPOSE:To provide a soil conditioner with increased strength and improved water stopping property, prepd. by adding a univalent alkali metal hydroxide to an aqueous soln. of univalent alkali metal silicate for ionization and activation. CONSTITUTION:An active soln. of a compd. of formula I (where M is a univalent alkali metal) in which silicic acid is ionized and activated is obtained when an alkali metal hydroxide or carbonate is reacted with silica or silica compd. such as water glass. When at least one day has passed after the interaction, scission and ionization of silicic acid compd. occur at places and a soil conditioner is obtained. When the conditioner in an ionized state is poured into ground, crystals are formed among soil particles through reaction with calcium, etc. and ground is solidified to exhibit excellent durability, increased strength and high water permeability. |
