PURPOSE:To provide a water glass-based soil conditioner having high strength, excellent water stopping property and durability comparable to that of cement, prepd. by adding NaOH to an aqueous soln. of Na2O.SiO2 for ionization and activation of silicic acid. CONSTITUTION:The soil conditioner consists of an aqueous soln. of Na2O.nSiO2 having an SiO/Na2O molar ratio of 2.0-2.5 prepd. by dissolving silica in alkali hydroxide (e.g. NaOH) or reacting water glass with alkali hydroxide and has a viscosity of 5-50cps. The addition of NaOH ionizes and activates silicic acid. |
