PURPOSE:To obtain the titled foam excellent in gas permeability, water absorptivity and weather resistance and soft and good in touch, by adding a specified silicone block copolymer to a crosslinked foam composition comprising an ethylene resin, a blowing agent and a crosslinking agent. CONSTITUTION:A mixture is formed by mixing 100pts.wt. ethylene resin (e.g., high-pressure process PE) of an MI>=1 with 1-20pts.wt. blowing agent of a foaming temperature (Tf) of 90-160 deg.C (e.g., azodicarbonamide containing an aid), 0.2-10wt% organic peroxide of a 10min-half-life temperature of 100-170 deg.C, as a crosslinking agent and 0.1-5pts.wt. silicone block copolymer of formula I or II(wherein R is a monovalent hydrocarbon group, X is a group of formula III, R' is a 1-10C alkylene, R'' is H, alkyl, aryl, aralkyl or carbamyl, l is 0 or 1, m is 0-300, n is 1-30, a/b and/or b/a are each 0-1) so that the relationship IV may be satisfied. This mixture is expanded by heating at 120-250 deg.C for 1-60min and cooled to 50 deg.C or below. |
