PURPOSE:To produce effective cover tightening force through simple structure by stopping a pin of drive member in a guide groove of a tightening metal slidable freely on a coaming while enabling free engagement of the upper face of tightening metal with a bracket on the side face of hatch cover. CONSTITUTION:A tightening metal 4 is provided slidably along a guide member 6 projected from a base 8 planted with hatch coaming 1. Said metal 4 is moved by a driving member 7 through a pin 7-1 engagable with guide grooves (a), (b) at the opposite sides. A tightening section engagable with the leading edge section 3 of bracket 2 on the side face of hatch cover is provided on the upper face of said metal 4 while projections 4-1, 4-2 to be stopped in recess 8-1, 8-2 provided at the tightening position on coaming table 8 are arranged on the lower face. Consequently, the hatch cover can be tightened firmly without employing complex link mechanism.
