<p>This invention relates to an air filter assembly wherein a plurality of filters are supported in a grid 4 suspended from the ceiling of a room.
<??>The grid is formed by interconnected lengthwise and crosswise filter support members 6 and 7 which define filter receiving openings 5. Each support member 6, 7 when installed has a center wall 11, 16 or 17 and two side walls 19, 20 or 21, 22 or 23, 24 spaced from each other; said walls all extending upward from a bottom wall to define two contiguous sealant receiving channels 9 and 10.
<??>The center walls and side walls of abutting lengthwise and crosswise filter support members are connected in fluid tight relation to each other to create an independent peripheral channel chamber 31, 32, 33, 34 around the perimeter of each of the filter openings. A viscous fluid sealant 24 is placed in each peripheral channel chamber. A filter element is mounted in each opening. Each filter element has a peripheral flange 31, 33 which extends downwardly into the sealant. </p> |
